Medical Arts building vs. Hospital building

Medical Arts building vs. Hospital building

People refer to a building where they get a doctor’s diagnosis or health checked as a hospital but it is actually called a Medical Arts Building. Not many people know the difference.

The Medical Arts Building, also called Medical Office Building or Medical Arts Center or Medical Arts Tower of a Hospital, is the building that houses a lot of clinics or doctors affiliated with the hospital or medical center. This building can also have a diagnostic or a therapeutic center or pharmacy and can only offer outpatient services and is not 24/7.

A hospital, on another hand, is a health care institution. It provides 24/7 services that can house inpatients and provide patient treatment with a specialized medical and nursing staff and medical equipment. It has rooms where patients can be admitted and treated on a 24/7 basis.

There is usually a Medical Arts Building (MAB) located within a hospital or medical center but they are not the same. Medical arts buildings do not take in admitted patients, while hospitals are the ones with resources available 24/7.
