Empathy-driven Interior Designing by the Rising Creative, Rose Faith G. Necesito-Brondial

Interior Designer Rose Faith Necesito Brondia believes in the power of empathy to create aesthetically pleasing, functional, and meaningful designs for her clients. By putting herself in their shoes, she can truly understand their needs and desires, resulting in spaces that reflect their unique personalities and lifestyles.

My top design principle is always to design with empathy since we shape their everyday life through our floor plans. Empathy for the space, empathy for nature, empathy for their need, and empathy for their budget.

This approach has earned her recognition among her clients and in the industry and is a testament to the impact of thoughtful design.

Filipina Architect converses with  Idr. Rose Faith, aka Pitang and her principles as a designer.

FA: Can you tell us about your background and how you became a designer?

I am IDr.-Engr. Rose Faith G. Necesito-Brondial. I am the head of Interior Design and one of the co-founders of YES Designs Corporation. It is a firm that offers design,  build, and styling services.

So my story about why I became a designer – back then, I loved art but pursued my civil engineering career as society told me that being a licensed engineer is more stable.  But art haunted me. When I began to pursue art, I realized that I embraced and subconsciously in love with engineering, science, physics, and service to people. That is when I got the vision of what I wanted to be – to become an INTERIOR DESIGNER.

The field where there is my passion for art that serves people and makes it to life through my engineering practice. Got my second degree, then took the board exam, passed, then now.

FA: Please tell us more about your design principles. How do you make interior spaces? Can you tell us about 2 projects that you are very proud of?

My top design principle is always to design with empathy since we shape their everyday life through our floor plans. Empathy for the space, empathy for nature, empathy for their need, and empathy for their budget.

I make interior space by the design brief given by the space, nature, client, and other factors. Also, being a listener and observer of every detail while having a conversation with the client.

I am really proud of our projects because they are a pure collaboration with our clients, Architect Edwin Francisco Diego Reginio and Engr. Ronald Marie Ganade.

Project Euphoria in Monteritz

This project is supposedly a paint/roofing update and an extension canopy project. When we presented the facelift and extension design, they loved it, and it turned out to have the additional: pool and total makeover. I am very proud of this project due to the trust of our repeat client. They are meticulous but have all the respect for the designers and builders.

Balai Lilai in Unisan, Quezon Province

We have a client who loves nature so much that we designed a contemporary bahay-kubo near the beach.  Proud that we are using local materials.

When asked what Rose Faith thinks about the advantage of being a Filipina Designer and what her message is to soon-to-be designers, her answer:

The greatest advantage of being a Filipina Designer is “Filipina” itself. We can design accurately by knowing our land, culture, climate, weather, etc..

To the young Filipina who wants to be a designer someday, always enjoy the learning process and always remember the purpose of design – it is the fulfilment of human satisfaction. We need to deliver what is right and needed; it is not about the showcase of our portfolio – it will just follow. We also need to know our roots; by that, we know what and how to innovate.
